As featured in the Washington Post, Globe Gazette, SFGate & Associated Press Description The belief in mysterious and potentially mystical properties of trees are in evidence in many cultures the world over. The tendency to anthropomorphize these beautiful entities or fantasize about a world that lies within is an age old habit. In the 21st century trees have rightfully assumed a critical role in the preservation of human life. It is said that the first ever Ogham sigil written was for the birch tree which is associated with light, clarity and immense vitality. Its signature white bark symbolizes purity or purification and was thought in Celtic tradition to be one of the most healing trees, a harbinger of spring possessing the power to invoke protection and banish all darkness.

As featured in the Washington Post, Globe Gazette, SFGate & Associated Press Description The first design Rowan, widely accepted as the tree of the Druids, symbolizes protection and magic. In Celtic tradition it was believed to have visionary properties and even in Scandinavian myth, the first woman was supposedly born from a rowan tree. It was the chosen wood for staves upon which norse runes were carved. Rowan wood was also thought to foster courage, greater vision and the fortitude to overcome difficulties.

As featured in the Washington Post, Globe Gazette, SFGate & Associated Press Description The sigil for the Alder Tree was the third in the Ogham or Tree Alphabet and thought to represent protection of the heart. Like the Rowan, in Irish myth it was believed that the first man was born of the Alder. It was a tree of prophecy and the favored wood for making shields for Celtic warriors. Alder symbolizes confident progress, a support in bravely facing obstacles in life and a help in developing stability and solidity as can be evidenced by the traditional preference to use its wood for bridge and foundation construction.

As featured in the Washington Post, Globe Gazette, SFGate & Associated Press Description The Willow was one of the seven noble trees according to the ancient Irish native body of laws, Brehon Law. It had great associations with water and the moon and consequentially with the power of our dreams. In the Celtic tradition, it was the wood of choice for harps but has significance in many cultures such as the ancient Egyptian Pharoahs; willow leaves formed the crown that Tutankhamen was buried with. The Willow Trees healing properties were considered to be its ability to restore flow and harmony within ourselves and the world around us.

Peace of mind", "Inner peace", "Peace and quiet", "World peace"
Peace may well be one of the most fundamentally important words in the human lexicon. The words we use, think and hear are powerful. With The OM Series collection we explore the idea that designing for wellness is not just a question of advocating for indoor air quality, advanced water filtration systems, choosing sustainable manufacturers and avoiding synthetic or chemically treated materials. A feeling of wellbeing can arise from surrounding ourselves with design that is not only composed of renewable and organic fibers like Irish wool but can represent and signify words that have the power to calm, heal and restore. If we consider that words are the paint with which we illustrate our reality, perhaps never before has it been so important to choose our utterances carefully and surround ourselves with positive affirmations from which we can draw solace. Language is one of the most powerful human attributes and even ancient scripture has promoted the concept that life and death are in the power of the tongue. With four new carpet and tapestry designs that represent words such as Shelter and Protect, Peace, Health and Welcome, Rhyme Studio offers a sustainable high quality and customizable Irish wool rug design concept for interiors from which one may even draw self soothing and reassurance. Since Covid-19 emerged, the home has taken on a new critical importance in our lives, not only as a personal sanctuary but now as the key to our survival during a human health crisis. Playing on the notion that “words we speak become the house we live in” new OM Series rugs strive to offer a more meaningful approach to homeware design that may positively affirm and contribute to the psychological well-being of our lives.

Description
Since the dawn of artistic expression, lions have played a prominent role in visual depictions and in defining humanity’s relationship with the natural and spiritual world. Insula art was no different. The lion frequently represented an omnipotent being and in this design, with a many colored breath that can breath life into limbs. Against a backdrop of Mourne Blue, reminiscent of the remarkable beauty of these northern mountains, gold silk adds a lustrous and soft texture to an abstracted form of this mighty being.
